I get to help inspire a love of our natural resources in students who visit the park. My favorite thing about Great Smoky Mountains National Park is that there is still so much to learn about it! Here’s a picture of me from when I participated in a monarch tagging volunteer event, helping to track the transcontinental migration of monarch butterflies. In addition to monitoring permanent and seasonal fauna, research on all sorts of things, from lichen to scat, is happening all across the Smokies! #NationalParkWeek #GreatSmokyMountainsNationalPark Thank you Allison for your service! #CACAmeriCorps

One group removed invasive plants from an African American Cemetery, while the other helped clean the space of a local non-profit. Happy Wise Water Wednesday! Members Sarah Benham and Haley Brinkley serving with City of Oak Ridge Stormwater (@healthywatersprogram) put on a stormwater education event once a month at the Oak Ridge Public Library.
