About The Real Good Kitchen Foundation (RGKF):
The Real Good Kitchen Foundation’s mission is to increase food access, strengthen communities, and build equity through food entrepreneurship education, capacity building, and access to capital. RGKF was developed to magnify the impact of the food business incubator Real Good Kitchen by providing access to RGK’s commercial kitchen and other resources to underserved communities in East Knoxville and beyond.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Member Activities for the RGKF:
- Creating staff and procedural handbooks
- Creating PR materials
- Creating a donor management system
- Researching and writing grants
- Tracking impacts of programs and creating reports to help build support
- Planning and hosting open houses and fundraising events
Member Activities for the Food Business Incubator Program:
- Assisting in building all infrastructure to develop program
- Designing application materials
- Building before and after surveys to quantify long-term impacts and direct programming
- Building and populating a database of participating food entrepreneurs to track long-term impacts of program
- Creating communications to recruit food entrepreneurs to program. Communications may include a website, social media, newsletter, press releases, flyers, etc.
Member Activities for the Family Meal Project:
- Assisting in building all infrastructure to scale pilot project to a fully developed program
- Researching other food access programs for proven models
- Creating communications to recruit participants to program. Communications may include a website, social media, newsletter, flyers, etc.
- Recruiting volunteers
- Working with public health partners to develop recipes and create cooking classes
- Creating instructional materials (such as recipe cards) for program participants
The member(s) in this position will have the opportunity to gain the following skills/credentials:
