Program Coordinator – KBB

About Keep Blount Beautiful:

Keep Blount Beautiful (KBB) is a community improvement nonprofit in Blount County. Our mission is to educate and encourage Blount County residents to take action to improve and beautify their community. KBB provides events, programs, and educational initiatives that focus on litter eradication, waste disposal, and beautification.

Position Summary:
  • Manage KBB education programs; promote, schedule, and lead educational lessons and activities in classrooms and on field trips
  • Manage KBB litter programs including cleanup support and Adopt-A-Mile; manage the Blount Event Recycling program
  • Assist in planning major events and projects, including litter pickups, recycling collections, and beautification projects
  • Assist with grant implementation
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and management
  • Run tabling events at fairs and expos and assist with KBB public relations
  • Daily tasks will include managing emails and phone calls to assist residents, updating social media and website, filing and reporting, and promoting KBB events
  • Attend any meetings including Board of Directors meetings

The member(s) in this position will have the opportunity to gain the following skills/credentials:

  • Experience managing volunteers and students
  • Experience with event planning
  • Experience with program development
Site Preferences/Qualifications:
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to stay organized
  • Excellent written communication skills are required
  • Experience working with children is preferred
  • Must be available some Saturdays and evenings
