About My Daughters Journey, Inc:

MDJ is a 501 {c} 3 nonprofit organization, that has been providing support, services, resources, and advocacy for children and families since 1990. The Founder, Ms. Simone Williams, has worked with the families, by providing Annual Back to School Events, Toy Drives, Coat Drives, Food Give and much needed advocacy on their behalf, where we have outreached to over 4,000 girls and young women 13 to 24 years of age, through our group mentoring and program services. Now we are working to implement Gun Trauma workshops to help young women 13 to 24 years of age, and families affected by gun violence and trauma to heal.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic Outreach Coordinator will help to develop, implement, manage and evaluate programs and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization, thus learning how to develop outreach programs to recruit and retain diverse volunteers and staff for the organization.

  • Collect and analyze data on local demographics
  • Develop results and present information that pertains to volunteer recruitment, retention, and diversity
  • Create strategic partnerships through social media outlets and attending community events

The member(s) in this position will have the opportunity to gain the following skills/credentials:

  • Outreach program development
  • Experience presenting to and engaging audiences
SITE PREFERENCES/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or communications
  • Commitment to and passion for working with those from a marginalized community
