Current AmeriCorps Member: Brittney Whipple

This site has been filled for the 2017-2018 Recruitment Cycle.

In 1992, concerned residents and government entities partnered to secure funding for an environmental non-profit that would serve Blount County. Since then, Keep Blount Beautiful has been educating the public and organizing clean ups thanks to the financial support of the Maryville/Alcoa/Blount County Landfill and TDOT Litter Grant through the Sheriff’s Office.

This multi-award winning nonprofit and Keep America Beautiful affiliate offers tours of local landfill and a variety hands-on educational programs to schools in Blount county. They also promote litter eradication through various cleanups throughout the year including the Big Orange Trash Bash which constructs a giant Power T out of orange trash bags to celebrate the greatly anticipated UT football season.
