Current AmeriCorps Member: Kelli Coleman

Recruiting for the 2018-2019 service year starting on August 6th, 2018
13 (5)

Founded in 1978, KKB is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Their mission is to promote litter eradication, recycling, and beautification efforts in Knox County communities using education, events and volunteer engagement to achieve our vision of a clean, green, beautiful community.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful, a Keep America Beautiful affiliate, was formed by Knox County, the City of Knoxville, and the Chamber of Commerce as the Greater Knoxville Beautification Board. Originally formed to help “clean up” prior to the 1982 World’s Fair, KKB plunged into community efforts to clean and beautify the community through its many programs. Through programs and events like the  Great American Cleanup, Orchids Beatification Awards, Talking Tree programs, Trash Runs, and their Recycling Trailer, KKB has paved the way for  the community to work together to accomplish greater environmental stewardship in the Knoxville area.  Keep Knoxville Beautiful has continued to grow through the years and has enjoyed much success and acclamation winning 23 National Awards, 9 State Awards and one local award. KKB launched its successful anti-litter slogan “Don’t Throw Down on K-Town” in 2004 which you can still spot all over the Knoxville community.
