Accepted an offer to serve with us?  Congratulations!
You have one more important step to complete in order to verify your eligibility to serve with CAC AmeriCorps.

State/National members serving through CAC AmeriCorps’ Environmental program will be subject to a check of the national sex offender public website (NSOPW), state checks, and an FBI fingerprint check through third-party vendors Truescreen and Fieldprint before beginning service.  These checks are the final step, following your formal offer, in determining suitability to serve in CAC AmeriCorps and must be completed no later than two weeks before the member’s proposed start date.  This is to assure adequate time for your check to clear and be adjudicated by staff, as needed.

To complete this process, follow these three steps:

Step 1) Please complete the Authorization of Background Investigation (.pdf) and submit to Program Coordinator, Lauren Bird.

Step 2) You will be registered with the appropriate checks in the Truescreen system. You will receive email instructions from truescreen.com on how to complete these checks.

Step 3) Setup an FBI fingerprint check through Fieldprint here by following these instructions after receiving the Fieldprint Code from Program Coordinator, Lauren Bird.

Disqualifying Findings
Regardless of the program, a criminal history involving a murder conviction and/or a crime that requires the individual to register as a sex offender will automatically disqualify them from serving through CAC AmeriCorps.  In addition, failure to disclose any other criminal conviction during the application process through my.americorps.gov may also result in disqualification.  Please notify Program Coordinator Lauren Bird if you have questions about what to report. All offers are contingent on successfully completing and passing this process.
