About UT FUTURE Program:
FUTURE is a postsecondary education program that serves individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). FUTURE helps young adults with IDD make a successful transition from high school to adult life. During the program, we provide students with specially designed FUTURE classes, the opportunity to audit undergraduate courses, and an internship on or off campus. Also available is career and clinical counseling to help develop academic, vocational, social, and decision-making skills. Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a vocational certificate.
Position Summary:
UT FUTURE needs the development of career transition support for UT FUTURE students. The position would develop resources for coaching, advocacy, follow-up, etc. to ensure students are accessing appropriate job opportunities after graduation.
- Develop a plan to increase employment opportunities for students enrolled in, graduating from, or alumni of the FUTURE program.
- Develop an awareness campaign for potential employers of FUTURE program graduates within the surrounding community.
- Develop programmatic materials for potential employers (e.g. accommodation guide, job coach request, disability awareness workshop).
