Wears Valley Fall Festival, Sevierville, TN

Situated in Beautiful East Tennessee, CAC AmeriCorps offers a unique experience serving in one of the most picturesque and biodiverse regions of the United States while connecting our members to a large, multi-disciplinary cohort of change-makers in a relatively small geographic area (4 counties, Knox, Blount, Anderson & Sevier).  This format creates many unique opportunities for intuitive collaboration between members and organizations to tackle local challenges that are often interrelated.  Our members are recruited from across the US and represent diversity in age, sex, race, gender, sexuality, and ability.  Despite these differences, our members share a unifying commitment to taking action to improve the world around them.

Service is an exchange
You get what you put in and CAC AmeriCorps is structured to optimize the return on the member investment in East Tennessee by investing back into the member experience.  For those that begin in August, this Begins with a week-long Orientation that allows members to acclimate to the program, community, and each other.  CAC AmeriCorps continues to bring members together throughout their service through days of service, professional development activities, and reflection.  CAC AmeriCorps provides members opportunities throughout the year to optimize their input and sense of agency in their corps year by allowing members to inform and develop programming and activities so that each year is responsive to the interests of our corps and the context in which the corps is operating.
