About CAC Nutrition Services:

CAC Nutrition Services includes Mobile Meals and several other programs. Mobile Meals combats food insecurity with the help of over 100 volunteers every weekday to deliver meals to approximately 1,100 homebound seniors who are unable to cook and have no one to prepare meals for them. These volunteers also serve as a daily safety check for the seniors, helping them stay safe at their place of residence. Nutrition Services also includes federally funded food programs such as Child Adult Care Food Program, Commodities Distribution Program, and Summer Food Service Program. These programs provide meals and/or food boxes to thousands more Knox County residents. Lastly, Nutrition Services manages the Supplement program, providing Boost or Ensure to clients needing nutritional supplements, and the Empty Stocking Fund client intake, helping to provide 1000s of food boxes to families in East Tennessee during the holiday season.

Position Summary:
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and events.
  • Participate in volunteer recruitment campaigns.
  • Coordinate and oversee volunteer groups for various events to create supply for multiple food distribution services.
  • Utilize Bloomerang, an online donor management system, to input and track donor information to promote retention.
  • Create outreach materials such as reports, newsletters, and social media posts that showcase the impact of Nutrition Services.
  • Assist with the coordination of major food distribution events, including the Summer Food Service Program, Commodities Distribution, and the Empty Stocking Fund.
  • Aid in projects to improve our program data collection and management, including meal delivery verification and volunteer mileage.
  • Table at community events to recruit new volunteers.

Site Preferences/Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites

  • Strong communication skills
